Feed a Fijian, Pay it forward

Flyer says Feed A Fijian

Since this pandemic started, our own team was affected by it, several times over. Feed A Fijian grew to also help those who were not spared from the economic wrath of this pandemic.

In times of crisis, we can each play a part to make things better and we decided we too could #ShareBulaThroughFood in this pandemic.

Since this crisis started and our own team was affected by it, several times over, we realised the necessity of food, especially Bula Food in difficult times is even more prominent.

I mean, it’s been so hard to keep the Bula Spirit alive in these difficult times, right?

We’ve had it in our heart to “Share Bula Through Food” with front line workers that have been through a lot these past few months. Because we are located in Sports City, we are smack bang in the middle of the two FEMAT Field Hospitals and see these Health Care Workers (HCW) working extra hard and being away from their families for months. It had been a few months of mulling over ways we could contribute when one day a call from our friends at Talanoa Treks & Rise Beyond the Reef mobilised the dream.

These fellow small business entrepreneurs (SMEs) engaged us to provide meals for front line workers and so we realised we could keep it going. By reaching out to other SMEs and to our other friends who had been voicing concerns over how to help, the “Feed a Fijian” idea came alive.

But asides from HCWs there are so many other families too who have lost incomes and so we decided we also want to help families that have been affected by the economic wrath of this pandemic.

So, join us? Lets feed many Fijians through the spirit of our community.

Feeding Fijians So far

Since we started this initiative, we have churned out 113 meals for the teams at FEMAT, Raiwaqa Health Center, Makoi Health Centre and the Albert Park vaccination drive through. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us to #ShareBulaThroughFood with your paying it forward. 🙏🏼

The SME network has been on fire and so through partnerships with other Fijian entrepreneurs, each meal was delivered with a fruit, drink and a layalaya shot! We are grateful to our friends at @ccepfiji and @turmericlayalayacarefiji for the partnership.

With all your love, we were able to attach personal notes of gratitude and inspiration for our front-liners and we hope that made their day a wee bit more bearable! 😊
