Our story
Frank and Vui Saketa were as far removed from the food and beverage industry as one could get. In a previous life, the Suva couple were bankers and for years they were successful at it.
Peel away the corporate layer on both and the Kanalevu story begins in the large family they each grew up in where laughter and talanoa around feasts of island food typical of Pacific families, was the normal.
The eldest of a large family of girls, Vui spent her formative years in the kitchen so when she needed a change pace, she turned to catering while holding onto her day job.
By the time Frank joined his wife, Kanalevu Kitchen had established its place in the market with comfort food prepared gourmet style and available conveniently for corporate events.
The Saketas now welcome Fiji foodies to the Kanalevu Bure where they offer island cuisine in open-air comfort and relaxation against the gentle sea breeze of Laucala Bay.
The full service restaurant and catering base offers a mouth-watering local gastronomical experience complete with cocktail and coffee bar.
